The Queens County Criminal Court House, located on Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens, houses the Queens County Criminal Court, Criminal Term of the Supreme Court, offices of the Departments of Probation and Correction, and Offices of the Queens County District Attorney.
In recent years a major renovation has added many more courtrooms to the facility, allowing all Queens felony trials to be conducted here.
If you have a case in this building, be sure to get there early. There are long lines most mornings to pass through the metal detectors.
The Queens House of Detention for Men is located directly behind the court-house. This facility is not currently being used to house inmates.
Although the early 1960’s architecture lacks the charm of the Long Island City Court House, this building has been the site of many famous trials, including the Kitty Genovese murder trial, the Alice Crimmins trials, and the Howard Beach trial.
